The wildlife in this area is astonishing. This is truly Brazils Wild West, the last frontier. It is that mystical place where the animals are not afraid of humans yet, where the fish are so abundant that you brush up against them and the roads still are not paved, where species new to science are as common as domesticated dogs and alligators are treated like pets.
