Founded in 1971, the Embrapa Pantanal is one of 41 units of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. The main area of research is the livestock farming in the Pantanal. Among the research activities of Embrapa Pantanal are: Family Farming; Agro-ecology and organic agriculture; Food science and technology; Conservation and use of genetic resources; Ecology and wildlife management; ecology and management of fishery resources; Alternative energy resources; Management biodiversity; Management and conservation of water resources; Global climate change; Management of native pastures; Livestock production sustainable. Facilitate research projects, development and innovation is one of the fundraising strategies of Embrapa Pantanal, which also develops projects in a network to raise funds from external sources nationally and internationally.
