In an interview with the Aventura e Ação Magazine, edition of October/November 2011, the Doctor of Philosophy and Theology, author of 67 bokks and an international speaker, Leonardo Boff talked about the importance of humans beings changing habits for the continuity of life on Earth still possible.
Boff said that the Earth Charter, a document he helped draft and published in 2000, consideres the following factors as interdependent: poverty, environmental degradation, social injustice, ethnic conflict, peace, democracy, ethics and spiritual crisis.

About Rio+20, the doctor believes it is important in global awareness of ecological issues and sustainable development. "I expect great mobilization of civil society, to raise the issue of preservation in the Amazon and the questioning of hydroelectric projects located in environmentally sensitive areas like the Pantanal and the Amazon itself," said in an interview with journalist Camila Natalino Frois about what he expects from the conference.
To improve, according to Boff is necessary that the man preserve and take care what`s left on the planet and regenerate what was damaged, things that are only possible with the awareness of being human. Some of the data points that what need attention are the drinking water and deforestation, which may cause an imbalance in the climate system.
